Wildlife Around Our House
We see a lot of wildlife on our property and on the Falls Lake property adjacent to ours. Once in a while I am lucky enough to capture a very small portion of it with my camera.
Pileated Woodpecker
|
We occasionally see Pileated Woodpeckers in our trees <-- Click to see more pictures of Pileated Woodpeckers - 5 pictures |
Red-Headed Woodpecker
|
We have a Red-Headed Woodpecker around the house sometimes that is incredibly difficult to get a picture of, but is REALLY beautiful - very brilliant colors - the pictures don't even come close to doing him justice <-- Click to see more pictures of the Red-Headed Woodpecker - 3 pictures |
Red-Tailed Hawk
|
Sometimes we see the Red-Tailed Hawk that seems to have a nest somewhere close by. It is hard to get pictures of the hawks too because I usually only see them when they are flying through the trees. <-- Click to see a bigger picture of the Red-Tailed Hawk - 1 picture |
Turkey
|
Upon occasion we have Turkeys (we've seen anywhere from 1 to 8 in a group here at a time) <-- Click to see more pictures of the Turkeys - 2 pictures |
Hoot Owl (Barred Owl)
|
Recently we have had a Hoot Owl (also known as a Barred Owl) take up residence somewhere near our house. We hear him hooting and communicating with another owl in the not too far off distance, and we see him quite a bit during the day, usually hunting in our front yard. <-- Click to see more pictures of the Owl - 4 pictures |
Bird Feeder
|
We finally put up a couple bird feeders around the house. Frequent visitors include Cardinals, Goldfinches, and of course, Squirrels. <-- Click to see more pictures of the various animals attracted to the bird feeders - 23 pictures |

And of course we have tons of White-Tailed Deer <-- Click to see more pictures of the deer - 40 pictures |
