Myrtle Beach → July 27 - 28, 2002

Going to Medieval Times in Myrtle Beach and stopping by South of the Border on the way home.
Not much to say - it was really a short trip. We left around 9:30 Saturday morning. It was already hot and humid. We headed south on Hwy 1, picked up 501 around Pinehurst. Took 501 down to Conway, SC. Got to our hotel around 2:30. We cleaned up (it was a HOT ride) and relaxed until about 4pm. Headed towards Myrtle Beach and took us 45 minutes to go about 15 miles due to heavy traffic (I just don't understand what bikers' see in the beach - all I see is straight sandy roads with too much traffic). Got to Medieval Times a little before 5, stood in line for a few minutes and in we went. What a neat show! Lots of pictures from it below, but I couldn't get very good pictures because it was dark in there (and eating with no utensils makes for a messy camera). The dinner/show lasted until 8:30 and we were back at the hotel by 9. Watched movies, went to bed. Sunday morning got up and on the road around 10am. Heat indices were in the 100's (114 where we were) all day. So the ride home was horrible. We took lots of breaks and long ones too. Half way home I was suffering from heat exhaustion pretty badly. The sunburn didn't help. We finally got home a little before 5 I think. Spent the rest of the day in the air conditioning! :)
