1985 Honda Accord Hatchback
When I was 16 (1992) I used my parents old 1982 Honda Accord 4-door. Shortly after I started driving it I made the mistake of trusting the turn signal of an approaching car when they weren't actually turning. Smack. Hit my head, hurt my back a little, totalled the car. It straightened out my "teenager-style" driving - instantly. Hard lesson. My parents made me pay for the added on insurance due to the wreck and if I wanted a car I had to buy it myself. Until then, someone would pick me up from school.
Sometime in my Junior year of high school (1993) we found a 1985 Honda Accord 3-door (hatchback) in excellent condition. My Dad bought for me and I paid him back as soon as I was able on what little I made working part time at the golf shop. (Thank goodness for graduation money.) Anyway, I was proud of my little Honda and it did it's job nicely. It took me through the rest of high school and all of college with little to no problems.
By the time I got out of college my poor little Honda had seen its better days (the emergency brake did not even work at all - good thing I didn't have any emergencies). So I traded in my Honda on a brand new 2000 BMW M Roadster.
I owned the 1985 Honda from 1993 - 1999. The starting mileage was around 60,000 miles and it had about 140,000 miles when I sold it.
